What you will do

• Lead the development of personalization algorithms that improve user engagement and retention.
• Identify opportunities to apply machine learning algorithms in partnership with business leaders and stakeholders.
• Collaborate with ML engineers, researchers, backend and frontend engineers, data scientists, and designers to integrate AI/ML models into Canva products.
• Set strategic direction for the personalization roadmap and align it with broader business goals.
• Analyze user data, communicate algorithmic concepts to non-technical stakeholders, and drive data-informed decisions.
• Monitor and refine personalization strategies against user needs and business objectives.

Requirements

• Strong expertise in machine learning, data analysis, and personalization algorithms.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain complex ideas clearly and persuasively.
• Deep understanding of user experience design and its impact on product success.
• Postgraduate degree such as an MS or PhD in machine learning, statistics, operations research, information theory, control theory, econometrics, or another applied quantitative field.
