What you will do

• Build and evolve cloud-based systems for managing and distributing configuration to a fleet of millions of endpoints.
• Collaborate across multiple teams to brainstorm, design, and implement solutions.
• Develop elegant, performant backend solutions primarily in Go (and also Python).
• Review and critique code across languages (Go, Python, Unix shell, TypeScript, C++, etc.) and provide technical guidance.
• Improve reliability by investigating production outage root causes and adding quality measures to prevent future outages.
• Apply engineering best practices (testing, peer code reviews, logging, resilient architecture patterns) to keep code clean and scalable.

Requirements

• Must be eligible for CJIS clearance (requires U.S. citizenship or Green Card/permanent resident status).
• 5+ years of experience building and scaling back-end systems in production.
• Strong computer science foundation (data structures, algorithms, distributed systems).
• Deep understanding of distributed systems and scalability challenges.
• Experience with Golang and Python; experience with some of: Kubernetes, Cassandra, Redis, Kafka, Elasticsearch.
• Experience with cloud services (AWS or Azure), and developing/deploying into Linux containers; ability to travel 1–3x per year (primarily within the United States).
