Manufacturing Engineer

TL;DR

Manufacturing Engineer: Prepare detailed manufacturing instructions and programming data to produce machined parts and meet engineering drawings and specifications with an accent on operation sequencing, tooling/fixture requirements, and N/C programming. Focus on improving shop-floor processes, supporting machinists with program prove-out, and driving corrective actions to reduce discrepant parts.

Location: Onsite – Buffalo, NY (West Falls, New York)

Salary: $85,000.00–$110,000.00 annually

What you will do

• Generate operation sheets and manufacturing procedures to support timely processing of assigned parts through the shop.
• Review engineering drawings/specifications and recommend changes to improve manufacturability.
• Convert N/C program outlines into coded machine instructions and provide accurate N/C programming tapes.
• Support machinists with program prove-out and follow up during initial manufacturing to ensure revisions to tooling and processing as needed.
• Establish standard times for setup and run for each operation; originate studies to improve efficiency (equipment, processes, materials, and designs).
• Define tooling, gauging, and fixture concepts; prepare rework operation sheets and cost estimates for new proposals.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a technical field, or at least 3 years of relevant working experience.
• 1–2 years of relevant experience (internships/co-op and scholastic research considered).
• Knowledge of milling operations, preferably 5-axis.
• Programming experience required, preferably with NX.
• Knowledge of GD&T and blueprint reading.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and respond to shifting priorities.
