What you will do
- Prepare comprehensive drawing packages including site plans, plan-and-profile sheets, and construction documents.
- Develop and maintain project-specific CAD standards and manage file organization.
- Integrate survey data and GIS datasets into Civil 3D models for grading and utility layout.
- Produce 3D models and renderings for client presentations and multi-discipline coordination.
- Review and QA/QC drawings produced by junior designers, providing redline feedback and mentorship.
- Support field verification and construction administration tasks, including occasional site travel.
Requirements
- Must be based in or able to commute to Newport News, VA, Virginia Beach, VA, Jacksonville, FL, or Hampstead, NC
- 10+ years of CAD design experience in civil engineering or environmental consulting.
- Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D with 10+ years of experience.
- Solid understanding of civil engineering design principles including grading and utility layout.
- Experience with GIS software such as Esri ArcGIS or ArcGIS Pro.
- Completion of a CAD Design certificate, technical diploma, or Associate Degree.
