What you will do

• Manage performance and capacity for IBM zEnterprise mainframe environments to ensure optimal efficiency.
• Monitor resource utilization (CPU, memory, storage) and forecast future infrastructure needs to prevent bottlenecks.
• Tune applications, middleware (CICS, Db2), and Workload Manager (WLM) policies.
• Optimize costs using the Sub-Capacity Reporting Tool (SCRT) and analyzing MSUs/MIPS.
• Collaborate with application and DevOps teams to troubleshoot and optimize mainframe workloads in real time.
• Provide strategic consultation on complex business processes and the identification of enabling technologies.

Requirements

• Must be a US Citizen due to contractual and access requirements.
• 10+ years of experience with mainframe systems in large, multi-LPAR, Parallel Sysplex z/OS environments.
• Deep expertise in RMF, SMF, WLM, and other mainframe performance monitoring tools.
• Strong hands-on skills in REXX and JCL.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a closely related discipline.

Nice to have

• Experience with ZPCR, Macro4 Freezeframe, BMC Thruput Manager, TADz, or IntelliMagic.
• Ability to code in SAS for generating operational reports.
• Experience working with highly transactional, large-scale data systems.
