What you will do

• Translate conceptual scientific requirements into concrete I/O specifications and metadata models.
• Define data contracts between pipeline steps and manage reference-genome handling.
• Facilitate structured interviews and working sessions with scientists and internal stakeholders.
• Produce clear, actionable artifacts including user stories, process maps, and technical documentation.
• Align business needs with development progress within a mixed delivery team.
• Organize and participate in agile ceremonies such as backlog grooming and sprint planning.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in a business analyst or similar analytical role.
• Demonstrated experience in bioinformatics and genomics data types.
• Proficiency with NGS workflows, variant data, and genotype-phenotype linkages.
• Conceptual understanding of production bioinformatics pipelines, workflow managers, and cloud execution.
• Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to balance competing priorities.
• Ability to work fluently in a mixed delivery team environment.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with plant/breeding data standards and ontologies like MIAPPE, BrAPI, and Crop/Plant Ontology.
• Understanding of FAIR principles.
