Formulation Chemist (Cosmetics)

What you will do

• Develop and customize cosmetic formulations for skin care, hair care, sun care, and color cosmetics.
• Prepare laboratory batches and prototypes for ingredient evaluations, customer projects, and promotional initiatives.
• Evaluate raw materials, processing parameters, and product performance characteristics.
• Conduct formulation troubleshooting, product optimization, and stability studies.
• Maintain accurate formulation records, laboratory notebooks, and project documentation.
• Collaborate with technical teams and stakeholders to achieve project objectives.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Cosmetic Science, Chemistry, Biology, Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific discipline.
• 3–7 years of hands-on experience in a cosmetic or personal care formulation laboratory.
• Working knowledge of emulsions, gels, raw material functionality, and stability testing.
• Strong organizational and documentation skills for managing multiple projects.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and formulation-related software.
• Must be based in or able to work onsite in New Providence, NJ, USA.
