Accelerator Physics Lead (Deeptech/Climatetech): Leading the development of high-power electron beam systems for industrial rock cutting with an accent on beam physics, cathode engineering, and pulsed power. Location: Must be based in Vancouver, BC, Canada (On-site)

Salary: CAD 100,000 - 150,000 per year

What you will do

• Lead the design, simulation, and assembly of high-power electron beam systems.
• Conduct hands-on lab work for testing and hardware development.
• Work across beam physics, cathode engineering, and pulsed power domains.
• Collaborate within a small technical team to transition from theory to field-capable hardware.
• Contribute to the development of high-energy beam experiments.

Requirements

• Graduate-level degree or equivalent in accelerator or beam physics.
• Hands-on experience with electron guns, pulsed power systems, or beam transport.
• Must be legally eligible to work in Canada (visa sponsorship/LMIA support available).
• Comfort working across both theoretical simulation and experimental lab environments.
• Ability to thrive as a generalist in a small, early-stage team.

Nice to have

• Experience with space-charge-dominated beams.
• Familiarity with electron gun codes such as OmniTrak, GPT, or CST.
• Experience with PIC codes like WarpX or Vsim.
