Mortgage Loan Officer- Florida Gulf Coast

What you will do

• Meet with prospective customers and referral partners to identify residential mortgage opportunities.
• Explain mortgage products, evaluate customer needs, and guide applicants through the loan process.
• Collect accurate applications and supporting documentation, enter information into mortgage systems, and submit files for underwriting and processing.
• Underwrite loans within the assigned authority, communicate decisions, clear conditions, finalize commitments, and prepare loans for closing.
• Coordinate with customers, underwriters, processors, realtors, closing agents, and other stakeholders; attend closings as needed.
• Achieve sales goals, generate referrals, participate in homebuyer events, and maintain compliance with mortgage policies and regulations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or progressive work experience.
• 2+ years of mortgage origination experience and proven sales ability.
• Knowledge of mortgage products, lending practices, industry procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Strong sales, negotiation, communication, planning, and time-management skills.
• Ability to learn mortgage origination and automated underwriting systems and use standard PC applications.
• Must be eligible for employment with a covered financial institution and registration as a mortgage loan originator with the NMLS.
