Mortgage Loan Officer I/II

Location: Onsite in Chandler, Goodyear, Mesa, or Phoenix, Arizona, United States

Salary: $24.24–$34.09 per hour

What you will do

• Interview and counsel members about first mortgage and equity loans, and take applications through face-to-face meetings, mail, and telephone.
• Guide mortgage applications from initial submission through closing while maintaining contact with members, Realtors, and sellers.
• Analyze referred loans, verify application data, identify documentation gaps, and determine appropriate next steps.
• Advise members on approved loan conditions, documentation requirements, and available financing alternatives.
• Monitor compliance with federal laws, Navy Federal policies, NCUA requirements, and secondary-market guidelines.
• Build referral relationships and participate in financial presentations, local events, and realtor or trade shows.

Requirements

• Experience in the mortgage lending industry.
• Working knowledge of VA and conventional mortgage lending requirements, regulations, and procedures.
• Working knowledge of mortgage and equity loan processing, closing, documentation, and related regulations.
• Ability to work effectively with automated systems and advanced word-processing and spreadsheet software.
• Advanced ability to analyze and communicate complex legal documents and present professionally to groups.
• Registration with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry, including fingerprinting and background checks, is required before beginning employment duties.

Nice to have

• Advanced knowledge of Navy Federal Mortgage Production and/or Servicing Systems.
