TL;DR
Area Industrial Engineer (Automotive): Implementing lean manufacturing systems to eliminate waste in production processes with an accent on efficiency, time studies, and workstation optimization. Location: Onsite in Spring Hill, Tennessee. GM does not provide immigration-related sponsorship for this role.

What you will do
- Implement lean manufacturing best practices to eliminate waste of time, materials, and resources.
- Develop and maintain standardized work procedures and conduct time and motion studies.
- Design efficient workstation layouts using AutoCAD to meet safety and quality requirements.
- Collaborate with production leadership to solve bottlenecks and improve throughput.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives via the Global Manufacturing System.
- Create metrics to monitor schedule progress and identify potential risk areas.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in engineering or a related field.
- 1+ year of experience in Industrial Engineering, Continuous Improvement, or Manufacturing.
- Ability to rotate through all three shifts (1st, 2nd, and 3rd) and work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Must have current US work authorization; no immigration sponsorship (H1-B, OPT, etc.) is provided.
- Experience in documenting standardized work procedures and implementing lean concepts.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
Nice to have
- Knowledge of human factors engineering and ergonomic analysis.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or Line Designer.
- Strong project and time management skills.
- Excellent skills in Microsoft Office.
