Senior Legal Counsel (International Business Law)

Location: Düsseldorf, Germany; hybrid position

What you will do

• Advise senior management and business partners on complex legal issues, risk management, commercial strategy, and regulatory compliance.
• Draft, review, and negotiate high-value national and international supply, distribution, service, license, and vendor agreements.
• Lead legal risk management, dispute resolution, external counsel coordination, and high-profile proceedings.
• Lead data protection initiatives, including GDPR compliance and cross-border data transfer matters.
• Coordinate legal strategy across international subsidiaries and support global legal matters.
• Lead or oversee major legal projects, M&A, restructuring, due diligence, procurement support, training, and mentoring.

Requirements

• Completed law degree with state examination and qualification as a lawyer.
• At least 7 years of professional experience in an international company or law firm.
• Experience advising executive leadership and managing multinational legal teams.
• Strong knowledge of German and international commercial law, contract law, data protection, compliance, and regulatory matters.
• Ability to manage complex projects and provide pragmatic, business-oriented legal solutions.
• Fluent written and spoken German and English are mandatory.
