TL;DR
Data Centre Mechanical Engineer (AI): Leading the design and construction of mission-critical data centre infrastructure in South Korea with an accent on high-density AI/HPC workload support. Focus on developing advanced mechanical systems, including liquid cooling integration, and ensuring peak operational performance throughout the project lifecycle.
Location: Gumi, South Korea; travel to sites within Korea is required.

What you will do
- Lead mechanical designs across greenfield, brownfield, and colocation data centre projects, coordinating construction documentation with other disciplines.
- Design and develop ACMV, hydraulic, refrigeration, fire protection, plumbing, and sanitary systems for high-density AI workloads.
- Perform cooling-load and hydraulic calculations, size and select equipment, and support procurement and supplier relationships.
- Review designs, equipment submittals, site utilities, jurisdictional requirements, and construction-phase technical requests.
- Support commissioning teams with testing and validation, conduct root-cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
- Drive innovation in liquid cooling, advanced monitoring, and other emerging data centre technologies.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- 7–10+ years of experience designing and maintaining mechanical systems for data centres, including 5+ years in mission-critical facilities.
- Experience with large-scale chilled-water plants, chillers, cooling towers, chilled-water distribution and storage, liquid cooling, and chemical dosing systems.
- Knowledge of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, heat transfer, fire protection, plumbing, and sanitary systems.
- Experience with high-density AI/HPC workloads, supplier relationships, factory acceptance testing, and taking designs from concept through deployment.
- Proficiency with modelling tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, or BIM.

- Licensed Professional Engineer or Chartered Engineer certification.
