Lead Engineer, Systems Engineering (Automation)

Location: Based in Munmak, Korea, with work across manufacturing sites in Munmak and JangAn and regional travel to project sites.

What you will do

• Design, integrate, commission, validate, and optimize advanced automation and control systems.
• Write, debug, and optimize PLC logic and HMI interfaces to improve cycle time, reliability, and overall equipment effectiveness.
• Develop automated inspection systems using vision, sensors, and gauging for presence, orientation, dimensional, and cosmetic checks.
• Lead root cause analysis, corrective actions, troubleshooting, diagnostics, and risk and safety validation for complex control systems.
• Contribute to controls network strategy, standards governance, legacy program improvements, and connections to data systems.
• Mentor engineers and technicians and collaborate with global teams to standardize automation platforms and processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• At least 8 years of experience delivering automation and controls solutions in complex manufacturing environments.
• Expert-level PLC programming with Allen-Bradley/Rockwell or Siemens, including HMI/SCADA design, integration, and optimization.
• Deep understanding of industrial networks, machine safety, and controls standards governance.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, technical leadership, stakeholder-influence, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Strong English language skills required.

• Knowledge of data analytics for smart manufacturing.
• Experience with Ignition software development and integration.
• Exposure to cleanroom automation and high-precision assembly processes.
• Experience leading large-scale automation projects and driving continuous improvement.
