Data Centre Electrical Engineer (AI)

Location: Gumi, South Korea. The role includes travel to data centre sites across Korea.

What you will do

• Lead electrical system design for greenfield, brownfield, and colocation data centres across the project lifecycle, from concept through construction, commissioning, and handover.
• Coordinate electrical designs with other disciplines and review colocation operator designs for high-density AI workloads.
• Define site utility requirements, specify equipment with regional vendors, and support compliance with IEC, NEC, CCC, and other applicable codes.
• Design and review MV infrastructure, generators, UPS systems, switchgear, transformers, earthing, substations, PDUs, VFDs, and ATS/STS systems.
• Support construction, equipment submittal reviews, factory acceptance tests, commissioning, site audits, and startup activities.
• Conduct feasibility studies, value engineering, root cause analysis, and corrective actions to optimize cost, performance, uptime, and scalability.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 7–10+ years of heavy industrial or commercial electrical design experience, including 5+ years in mission-critical facilities.
• Experience with high-density AI or HPC workloads and critical data centre electrical systems.
• Strong knowledge of regional electrical codes, including IEC, NEC, and CCC.
• Experience with controls systems, supplier relationships, factory acceptance testing, and bringing designs from concept through deployment.
• Proficiency with modelling and design tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, or BIM.

Nice to have

• Professional Engineer or Chartered Engineer certification.
