Focus on identifying redundant rules, validating traffic requirements, and ensuring policy readiness for Prisma Access architecture.

Location: Must be based in Charlotte, NC (Hybrid schedule)

What you will do

• Analyze and review existing Palo Alto Networks firewall security policies across the enterprise.
• Identify redundant, shadowed, or overly permissive rules under senior guidance.
• Document current-state firewall policies, rule intent, and business justifications.
• Support inventory efforts for security policy objects and application filters.
• Tag and categorize rules to prepare for migration to Prisma Access / SASE.
• Collaborate with IT teams to validate rule ownership and traffic requirements.

Requirements

• Must be authorized to work on a W-2 basis (No C2C or 1099).
• 1–2 years of experience in network support or firewall administration.
• Basic hands-on experience or coursework with Palo Alto Networks next-generation firewalls.
• Solid understanding of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and NAT.
• Ability to read and interpret firewall security and traffic logs.
• Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.

Nice to have

• Palo Alto Networks PCCET or PCNSA certification.
• CompTIA Security+ or Network+ certification.
• Cisco CCNA certification.
• Experience supporting large enterprise networks.
