What you will do

• Review, approve, and sign-out clinical molecular, cytogenetic, and oncologic test reports.
• Interpret NGS results in the context of medical literature and patient data.
• Set and maintain standards for laboratory testing and analytical performance.
• Serve as Technical Supervisor to ensure compliance with CLIA, CAP, and state regulations.
• Manage and mentor laboratory personnel, including succession planning.
• Provide clinical and technical support to genetic counselors and lab staff.

Requirements

• MD/DO and/or PhD in genetics or a related field.
• Current California license or eligibility as a Clinical Genetic Molecular Biologist Scientist or Clinical Cytogeneticist Scientist.
• ABMGG board-certified in Molecular Genetics/Cytogenetics/LGG or ABP board-certified in Molecular Genetic Pathology.
• Two or more years of experience in a CLIA-certified clinical laboratory.
• Strong background in human genetics, oncology, and NGS data interpretation.
• Knowledge of CAP, CLIA, and California/New York state regulations.

Nice to have

• Current Certificate of Qualification in Genetic Testing and Molecular Tumor Markers from the NYS CLEP.
