TL;DR

Qubit Control IC Designer (Quantum Computing): Designing critical control electronics and mixed-signal SoC/FPGA solutions for quantum computers with an accent on signal integrity and CMOS process integration. Location: Hybrid; must be based in the US (Locations include Hillsboro, Phoenix, Folsom, San Jose, Santa Clara, Fort Collins, Beaver Brook, and Austin)

Salary: $122,440 – $232,190 USD

What you will do

  • Architect and test complex mixed-signal SoC and FPGA solutions that interface the quantum computing stack to actual qubits.
  • Generate precise and reliable control signals required to drive and read qubit states.
  • Perform signal integrity analysis and EM modeling to optimize qubit chips and minimize crosstalk.
  • Collaborate with software, algorithms, and qubit development teams to bridge the gap between quantum physics and electronic implementation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. degree with 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Proven experience with RF/analog/mixed-signal circuit tape-out in advanced process technology and lab testing.
  • Experience with the full silicon prototyping flow, including design, validation, layout, and testing.
  • Expertise in mixed-signal systems including circuit blocks such as LNAs, Mixers, PAs, PLLs, VCOs, ADCs, and DACs.

Nice to have

  • Experience with EM modeling and simulation tools for high-speed on-chip/on-package interconnects.
  • High-level system design and validation skills using Matlab, Verilog, Veriloga, or System Verilog.
  • Expertise in DSP and signal processing.
  • Direct experience with quantum computing, specifically spin qubit design and fabrication.
  • Hands-on experience with dilution refrigerators and lab-grade control electronics.
