What you will do

• Lead cross-functional partnerships to design optical subsystems including laser distribution and imaging systems.
• Define system architecture and make strategic decisions regarding design requirements.
• Create novel optical designs and specifications from component to system level.
• Perform detailed tolerance and stray light analysis to evaluate design suitability.
• Develop and execute hands-on assembly and precision alignment procedures.
• Characterize the performance of finalized optical subsystems.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Optical Sciences, Optical Engineering, or a related field.
• 5-8+ years of professional optical design experience.
• 4+ years of hands-on optics assembly experience in a laboratory setting.
• Proficiency with ray-tracing software such as Zemax or FRED.
• Experience with 3D CAD software like Solidworks or Onshape.
• Ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
