What you will do

• Maintain and evolve the enterprise-wide data governance framework, ensuring policies and standards align with organizational strategy.
• Manage enterprise data definitions, metadata standards, and quality expectations.
• Drive consistent adoption of governance practices across business units and data stewardship teams.
• Establish data quality metrics and oversee issue management processes, including root cause analysis.
• Facilitate governance councils and cross-functional forums to drive enterprise alignment.
• Partner with IT to ensure governance tools like Azure Purview, Collibra, or Alation are used consistently.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Management, Data Science, Computer Science, Business, or a related field.
• 5–8 years of experience in data governance, data management, or metadata management.
• Must be based in or able to work onsite/hybrid in Detroit, MI.
• Hands-on experience with enterprise tools such as Azure Purview, Collibra, or Alation.
• Familiarity with regulatory frameworks including GDPR, HIPAA, and SOX.
• Experience working within a hub-and-spoke or federated data management structure.
