Location: Hybrid (Milford, MI or Warren, MI). This role requires on-site presence at least 3 times a week.

What you will do

• Lead and mentor a high-performing platform engineering team focused on CI/CD and embedded tooling.
• Define and execute the strategy for the OPTIMUS platform and cloud-based toolchains.
• Establish standards for repository governance, branching strategies, and artifact management.
• Partner with security, IT, and site reliability teams to ensure platform scalability and security.
• Monitor platform health and build metrics to drive continuous improvement in developer experience.
• Balance immediate operational support with long-term platform modernization initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in software engineering, DevOps, or platform engineering with leadership responsibility.
• Expertise in Git-based workflows, GitHub Enterprise, and CI/CD automation (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins).
• Strong understanding of embedded software development environments and quality gates.
• Experience with cloud platforms, specifically Azure services and distributed systems.
• Must be able to work in a hybrid capacity in Milford or Warren, Michigan.

Nice to have

• Experience with JFrog Artifactory for artifact management.
• Familiarity with developer tooling like VS Code, Gerrit, and manifest-based build systems.
• Experience using observability platforms like Datadog to track delivery performance.
