Engineering Designer (Automotive)

Engineering Designer (Automotive): Developing innovative propulsion and lower-structure systems using advanced NX modeling tools with an accent on virtual vehicle integration and manufacturability. Location: Must be based in or able to relocate to Warren, Michigan. This role is hybrid, requiring on-site presence at the Warren Tech Center at least three days per week.

What you will do

• Develop virtual vehicle integration solutions aligned with program requirements and design principles.
• Create and refine NX math models, criteria, and typical sections while ensuring standard modeling compliance.
• Coordinate virtual and clearance studies from part level to complete vehicle configuration.
• Apply manufacturability, DFA, and integration considerations to subsystem designs.
• Document and maintain material, mass, and specification data within math files.
• Collaborate with engineers and designers to ensure high-quality, on-time math releases.

Requirements

• 2–5 years of experience in CAD or engineering design within automotive or mechanical systems.
• Proficiency in Siemens NX and parametric modeling.
• Strong understanding of GD&T, manufacturability, and subsystem integration.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or equivalent.
• Must be authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship (no H-1B, OPT, etc.).

Nice to have

• Knowledge of structural sheet-metal components or casting processes.
• Master’s degree in Engineering.
