IT Security Engineer (Cybersecurity)

Location: On-site in Gilching, Germany (with the option to work remotely one flexible day per week)

What you will do

• Monitor, analyze, and respond to security events, alerts, and incidents.
• Develop and enforce security policies in collaboration with internal stakeholders and compliance requirements.
• Perform system hardening and security baseline management for servers and critical infrastructure.
• Deploy and administer security solutions such as EDR, SIEM, and identity security platforms.
• Design, implement, and operate firewall infrastructures using Fortinet and Sophos technologies.
• Manage access control concepts and privileged access security.

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science, Cyber Security, IT, or a comparable qualification.
• Professional experience in IT security, system administration, or infrastructure engineering.
• Hands-on experience with EDR/XDR, SIEM, vulnerability scanners, and firewalls.
• Knowledge of Windows environments; experience with Linux systems is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with Microsoft 365 security, Entra ID, Intune, and Azure Security Center.
• Fluency in English; German language skills are considered a plus.
