What you will do

  • Install and connect street lighting and highway electrical street furniture.
  • Perform routine and non-routine maintenance, including complex fault finding.
  • Supervise multiple team members on-site.
  • Conduct testing and inspections in accordance with BS7671.
  • Carry out risk assessments and ensure safe operation of specialist vehicles and tools.
  • Attend emergency call-outs and progress toward additional authorized duties like LV mains jointing.

Requirements

  • Recognized apprenticeship or training program in a skilled craft.
  • C & G 236 Parts 1 & 2 / 2330 Level 2 & 3.
  • 18th edition BS7671 wiring regulations qualification.
  • Current driving licence and qualification to drive specialist vehicles.
  • High degree of manual dexterity and ability to work independently or in a team.
  • Flexibility to work unsocial hours as required by the nature of the role.

Nice to have

  • Current NRSWA accreditation.
  • Full G39 qualification.
  • CSCS accreditation via the Highways Electrical Registration Scheme (HERS).
  • Deep understanding of Highways Lighting business and distribution networks.
