What you will do

• Maintain and update legal compliance registers and track emerging regulatory changes.
• Manage environmental permits and monitor compliance with emissions limits and reporting obligations.
• Act as the Local Chemical Compliance Officer, ensuring adherence to REACH, CLP, COSHH, COMAH, and GHS requirements.
• Coordinate internal and external audits and carry out compliance assessments to close identified gaps.
• Investigate environmental incidents and ensure corrective actions are verified and implemented.
• Collaborate with external bodies, including the HSE and local authorities.

Requirements

• Recognized EHS qualification such as Tech IOSH, NVQ, or the NEBOSH General Certificate in Environmental Management or Occupational Health & Safety.
• Proven experience in a similar EHS role within manufacturing, production, logistics, or maintenance environments.
• Working knowledge of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems and environmental permits.
• Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence at all levels.
• Must be based in or be able to work onsite in Manchester, UK.

Nice to have

• Higher-level qualifications such as NEBOSH Diploma, NVQ Level 6, or AIEMA.
• Degree in Chemistry or Environmental Science.
• Experience working with chemicals in an industrial environment.
• Knowledge of packaging waste tax.
