What you will do
- Execute privacy strategy for the EU and UK, ensuring compliance with GDPR, UK GDPR, and ePrivacy Directive.
- Conduct privacy impact assessments and DPIAs for new products and business initiatives.
- Provide practical, business-focused legal advice on privacy matters to internal stakeholders.
- Manage data subject rights requests and support privacy breach preparedness and incident response.
- Advise on and negotiate data processing agreements and cross-border data transfer mechanisms.
- Monitor legislative developments and provide analysis to senior leadership.
Requirements
- Law degree and qualified solicitor, barrister, or equivalent in an EU member state or the UK.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a privacy lawyer.
- Strong knowledge of EU and UK privacy laws, including GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018.
- Proven experience advising on cross-border data transfers and standard contractual clauses.
- Experience handling data subject rights requests and regulatory notifications.
- Ability to work flexible hours to collaborate with a global team across time zones.
Nice to have
- Experience in the FinTech or payment services sector.
- Professional privacy certifications such as CIPP/E, CIPM, or CIPT.
