What you will do
- Define metal fabrication processes, select tooling, and program CNC equipment for functional prototype production.
- Translate SolidWorks drawings into CNC programs for lathes, mills, routers, lasers, and press brakes.
- Review designs with Engineering, validate manufacturability, and support sub-assembly and DFX activities.
- Develop prototype fabrication protocols, SOPs, validation reports, and traceability documentation.
- Optimize process flow, cycle times, lead times, and fabrication milestones while analyzing bottlenecks and test data.
- Support Lean Manufacturing initiatives, technician training, KPI tracking, and evaluation of new manufacturing technologies.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in CAD/CAM, CNC programming, and manufacturing engineering.
- Experience with CAD/CAM software such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD.
- Strong understanding of CNC principles and G-code.
- Experience with metal fabrication, including laser processing, press brakes, bus bars, and assembly.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001, AS9100, safety protocols, analytical problem-solving, and collaborative technical communication.
Nice to have
- Experience with switchgear design or manufacturing.
