Environment Health and Safety (EHS) Engineer (Aerospace)

Location: Bordeaux, France. Relocation assistance and visa sponsorship are provided.

The Exploration Company develops, produces, and operates Nyx, a modular and reusable space orbital vehicle designed for cargo and potentially human transport.

What you will do

• Ensure organizational compliance with local, national, and EU EHS regulations and standards, including documentation for French governmental agencies.
• Implement and maintain comprehensive safety programs and policies to minimize workplace hazards.
• Conduct regular inspections and audits of facilities and equipment, monitoring KPIs to maintain a zero-accident policy.
• Manage the proper handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials and waste to minimize environmental impact.
• Develop emergency response plans and investigate accidents or near-misses to determine root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Provide EHS expertise for product projects, contributing to risk management processes such as FMEA, HAZID, and HAZOP.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in environmental health and safety management or a related field.
• Initial experience in an EHS role, preferably within aerospace, oil & gas, or automotive industries.
• Knowledge of French EHS regulations (Code du travail, ICPE).
• Experience with risk assessment methodologies, safety audits, and incident investigation.
• Excellent communication skills in both French and English.
• Knowledge of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards.

Nice to have

• Experience managing hazards related to chemicals, pressurized gases, cryogenic fluids, or electrical installations.
