Sr. Staff Technical Marketing Analyst (HDD)

Location: Remote, United States; virtual employment is available only in listed US states. Travel: up to 25%.

Salary: $145,000–$210,000 base annually.

What you will do

• Develop and maintain quantitative models based on HDD architecture, physics, component behavior, manufacturing flows, and system-level interactions.
• Build bottom-up HDD cost models covering mechanical, magnetic, electronic, sourcing, and production elements.
• Create forecasts, sensitivity analyses, and scenarios using market, customer, design, and factory assumptions.
• Analyze how technology choices affect throughput, scrap, bottlenecks, test coverage, and long-term cost efficiency.
• Partner with engineering, operations, sourcing, marketing, finance, pricing, sales, and portfolio teams to support roadmaps, pricing, warranty, and customer decisions.
• Present data-backed technical and competitive insights to senior stakeholders and external customers.

Requirements

• Extensive experience in technical modeling, systems analysis, or technology strategy.
• Deep understanding of HDD architecture, physics, manufacturing processes, and the competitive HDD market.
• Strong quantitative, analytical, modeling, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with storage industry devices, hardware platforms, infrastructure systems, large-scale technology deployments, or storage total cost of ownership analysis.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Applied Sciences, Operations Research, or equivalent experience.
