Salary: $220,000 — $270,000 USD

What you will do

• Own the recurring competitive radar, including taxonomy, source standards, and update cadence for priority competitors.
• Produce deep-dive analyses, feature-gap assessments, and early-warning briefs to inform product strategy.
• Translate technical findings into GTM-ready handoffs, battlecards, and strategic deal narratives.
• Synthesize signals from product, engineering, sales, customer success, and analyst research into clear recommendations.
• Partner with product management and technical advocacy to frame competitive questions and influence roadmap prioritization.
• Maintain high standards for source transparency, legal compliance, and ethical research practices.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in competitive intelligence, technical product strategy, or related enterprise software roles.
• Strong technical fluency in observability, cloud infrastructure, security, or distributed systems.
• Ability to synthesize technical, commercial, and market evidence into executive-level recommendations.
• Strong executive writing skills with experience producing structured briefs and comparison frameworks.
• Proven ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders without direct authority.
• Must be based in or able to work from New York, NY or San Francisco, CA.

Nice to have

• Experience building a competitive intelligence program or research repository from the ground up.
• Familiarity with SCIP ethics guidance and evidence governance.
• Background in platform engineering or technical enterprise SaaS.
