What you will do

• Architect, design, and develop embedded C firmware for complex DSP hardware.
• Implement firmware for RX/TX signal processing, FEC, PLL/FLL, and thermal monitoring.
• Perform technical reviews of firmware architecture, API designs, and system integration.
• Translate industry standards (MSA/OIF/CMIS) and customer specs into technical requirements and sequence diagrams.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams (Hardware, QA, Marketing) using Agile sprints to roll out features.
• Engage with tier-1 customers to define feature requirements and support bring-up activities.

Requirements

• Experience in memory-constrained embedded C/C++ firmware development.
• Deep understanding of embedded SoC and microcontroller architecture (RISC-V is a plus).
• Knowledge of memory-mapped hardware interfaces, GPIOs, and ISRs.
• Experience managing the full lifecycle from architecture design to volume production.
• English: Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
• Location: Must be based in Santa Clara, CA.

Nice to have

• Experience with SERDES, DSP, Ethernet/PCIe PHYs, or Optical Module software.
• Knowledge of RTOS, bare-metal development, or Linux kernel.
• Proficiency in Python, git, gdb, and Linux.
• Familiarity with lab equipment (oscilloscopes, PNAs) and hardware languages like Verilog.
• Understanding of Ethernet networking (OSI model) and signal processing (BER, SNR, FFT).
