What you will do
- Design and implement core gameplay systems including combat AI, narrative integration, and map interactions.
- Lead engineering efforts by mentoring junior staff, delegating tasks, and coordinating technical architecture.
- Prototype new gameplay mechanics and iterate based on design feedback.
- Maintain and improve DevOps pipelines using Unity Cloud Build and Bitbucket.
- Optimize game performance and expand titles from PC to console platforms.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality UX and maintain technical documentation.
Requirements
- 8+ years of professional Unity engineering experience with shipped titles on PC or console.
- Must be located in the USA or Canada with availability during 9:30 AM – 5:30 PM Pacific time.
- Deep expertise in C# and object-oriented programming within the .NET platform.
- Proven experience creating and balancing combat AI systems.
- Strong understanding of game architecture performance impacts and design patterns.
- Excellent English communication skills for remote team collaboration.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with Pixel Crushers' Dialogue System or Dark Tonic's Master Audio.
- Experience with XML processing and design diagramming tools like Visio.
- Proficiency in creative tools such as Blender, Photoshop, or Figma.
- Residency in Seattle, Los Angeles, or Edmonton.
