Senior Gameplay Programmer (Unity)

TL;DR

Senior Gameplay Programmer (Unity): Designing and implementing gameplay features for simulation games with an accent on game logic, AI, and player interaction. Focus on taking features from initial design through to implementation and polish while collaborating across disciplines to create emergent behavior.

Location: Must be based in or able to work from Farnham, UK (4 days per week in-office).

What you will do

• Collaborate with design and art teams to implement gameplay features from concept to final polish.
• Write clean, maintainable, and robust code using Unity and C#.
• Implement and refine gameplay systems based on feedback and playtesting results.
• Maintain code quality and adhere to established technical standards.
• Plan and estimate tasks within an agile development environment.
• Participate in team discussions, problem-solving, and feature reviews.

Requirements

• Must have solid practical experience with Unity and C#.
• Around 5 years of professional game development experience.
• Strong understanding of core programming practices including source control, debugging, and testing.
• Basic awareness of performance optimization (CPU and memory).
• Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
• Proactive attitude and willingness to learn.

Nice to have

• Experience or interest in AI or gameplay systems.
• Experience with performance optimization in Unity.
• At least one shipped commercial game.
• Exposure to console development.
• Basic 3D maths or graphics knowledge.
