FinOps Engineer (Cloud)

Location: Must be based in or able to commute to Chandler, AZ or Irving, TX (Hybrid – 3 days onsite)

What you will do

• Lead FinOps initiatives to drive cost optimization and financial accountability across cloud and infrastructure platforms.
• Establish application-level cost visibility, chargeback, and reporting processes.
• Develop forecasting models, budgeting processes, and anomaly detection capabilities.
• Build automation solutions to monitor, alert, and remediate spend-related issues.
• Utilize AI-driven insights to identify inefficiencies and financial risks.
• Partner with Finance, Architecture, and Engineering teams to integrate cost controls into infrastructure lifecycles.

Requirements

• 6–10+ years of experience in cloud, platform, or systems engineering.
• Proven hands-on FinOps experience in enterprise environments.
• Strong expertise in Azure and GCP cost management and billing models.
• Proficiency in automation and scripting (Python, PowerShell, Bash).
• Experience implementing tagging standards and governance frameworks at scale.
• Must be able to work onsite 3 days per week in Chandler, AZ or Irving, TX.

Nice to have

• Kubernetes or container cost optimization experience.
• FinOps Foundation Certification.
• Experience incorporating cost as a non-functional requirement in architecture reviews.
• Familiarity with third-party cloud cost management platforms.
