DevOps Engineer (GCP)

TL;DR

DevOps Engineer (GCP): Designing, implementing, and maintaining secure cloud infrastructure solutions within Google Cloud Platform with an accent on infrastructure automation, cloud security, and CI/CD pipeline development. Focus on ensuring compliance with federal security standards and supporting mission-critical government workflows.

Location: Must be based in Washington, D.C. (Hybrid: 4 days on-site, 1 day telework)

What you will do

• Design and manage secure, scalable cloud infrastructure on GCP.
• Develop infrastructure-as-code using Terraform or similar tools.
• Support and optimize CI/CD pipeline automation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support deployment workflows.
• Monitor system performance and ensure compliance with federal standards like FedRAMP and NIST.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship required for federal contract and security clearance.
• Must be willing to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance.
• 4+ years of experience in cloud engineering, including 2+ years on GCP.
• Hands-on experience with GCP services (Compute Engine, GKE, VPC, IAM).
• Solid understanding of Linux, networking, and containerization.
• Experience with IaC tools and CI/CD pipelines.

Nice to have

• GCP Professional Cloud Architect or DevOps Engineer certification.
• Experience supporting federal government contracts and ATO processes.
• Scripting proficiency in Python, Bash, or Go.
• Familiarity with AWS or Azure.
