Salary: $272,109 - $380,951 (WA applicants)

What you will do
- Lead, mentor, and develop a multi-disciplinary team of software engineers across flight, test, and ground systems.
- Define and execute the software engineering roadmap aligned with New Glenn program milestones and reusability goals.
- Own the full software development lifecycle from architecture through flight certification.
- Drive rigorous development processes and validation methodologies for safety-critical aerospace systems.
- Partner with avionics and systems engineering teams to ensure seamless hardware/software integration.
- Manage departmental budgets, resource allocation, and technical risk across concurrent work streams.
Requirements
- Must be a U.S. citizen, national, or permanent resident (Green Card holder) due to export control regulations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
- 15+ years of software engineering experience, including 5+ years in senior leadership roles.
- Proven experience delivering embedded software for safety-critical or flight-critical systems.
- Strong expertise in RTOS, embedded C/C++, and hardware/software integration.
- Demonstrated ability to scale high-performing engineering organizations and manage cross-functional programs.
Nice to have
- Master’s degree in a relevant engineering or computer science discipline.
- Experience with launch vehicle, spacecraft, or missile systems software development.
- Familiarity with DO-178C, NASA-STD-8739.8, or similar safety standards.
- Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and tools like Simulink.
