Location: Must be based in the Greater Seattle Area (Relocation provided)

Salary: $272,109 - $380,951 (WA applicants)

What you will do

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a multi-disciplinary team of software engineers across flight, test, and ground systems.
  • Define and execute the software engineering roadmap aligned with New Glenn program milestones and reusability goals.
  • Own the full software development lifecycle from architecture through flight certification.
  • Drive rigorous development processes and validation methodologies for safety-critical aerospace systems.
  • Partner with avionics and systems engineering teams to ensure seamless hardware/software integration.
  • Manage departmental budgets, resource allocation, and technical risk across concurrent work streams.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. citizen, national, or permanent resident (Green Card holder) due to export control regulations.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
  • 15+ years of software engineering experience, including 5+ years in senior leadership roles.
  • Proven experience delivering embedded software for safety-critical or flight-critical systems.
  • Strong expertise in RTOS, embedded C/C++, and hardware/software integration.
  • Demonstrated ability to scale high-performing engineering organizations and manage cross-functional programs.

Nice to have

  • Master’s degree in a relevant engineering or computer science discipline.
  • Experience with launch vehicle, spacecraft, or missile systems software development.
  • Familiarity with DO-178C, NASA-STD-8739.8, or similar safety standards.
  • Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and tools like Simulink.
