Product Business Analyst

TL;DR

Product Business Analyst (Capital Markets/Data): Shaping how data is integrated, structured, and delivered across hirify.global’s Trade Surveillance platform with an accent on data conversion pipelines, functional requirements, and end-to-end requirements lifecycle. Focus on translating complex trading workflows into scalable, client-ready solutions while coordinating with engineering and QA to resolve production issues and enhancements.

Location: Sydney, Australia (hybrid: at least 2 days/week in-office)

What you will do

• Analyze data conversion pipelines to identify discrepancies, gaps, and mapping errors when transforming raw exchange feeds into internal schemas.
• Author and maintain functional specifications, data requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria for data solution implementations across asset classes.
• Own the requirements lifecycle from intake and analysis through documentation, development handoff, QA validation, and release.
• Investigate and define resolution paths for production issues and enhancement requests, coordinating with development and QA.
• Partner with engineering to interpret system logic and configurations to ensure accurate and complete requirement definition.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in data analysis, business analysis, or product analyst roles in capital markets, financial technology, or regulated trading environments.
• Hands-on experience with market data structures, trading protocols, and order lifecycle workflows.
• Ability to understand and interpret technical implementations, including data pipelines and system logic.
• Proven experience producing structured functional documentation (data flows, specifications, process maps).
• Australian working rights: Australian citizenship or permanent residency status.

Nice to have

• Experience with Jira and Confluence.
• Trade Surveillance or compliance experience.
• Familiarity with SQL, data querying, or structured financial data formats.
