What you will do

  • Lead major financial crime initiatives from concept to delivery, including transaction monitoring and screening.
  • Design and enhance controls across KYC, SARs, and customer risk assessments.
  • Deputise for the Head of Financial Crime in leadership, product, and governance forums.
  • Partner with Product and Engineering teams to embed effective controls into new products and customer journeys.
  • Use data and emerging technologies to improve control effectiveness, efficiency, and customer experience.
  • Mentor and develop colleagues to build capability across the wider financial crime function.

Requirements

  • Significant experience leading financial crime strategy or operations within banking, fintech, or regulated financial services.
  • Strong expertise in transaction monitoring, KYC/CDD, screening, and SARs.
  • Strong understanding of the UK financial crime regulatory landscape.
  • Experience as a senior decision-maker influencing stakeholders at all levels.
  • Product-minded approach to balance risk management, customer outcomes, and commercial objectives.
  • Must be based in or able to commute to London for hybrid work.
