Claims Buildings Consultant (Property Claims)

Location: Hybrid, with some travel to Eastleigh; flexible working is available within the UK

Salary: £40,000–£60,000 per year, dependent on experience

What you will do

• Provide technical support and referral assistance to Technical Leads and Senior Claims Handlers.
• Support technical capability, governance, targeted file reviews, and escalated case handling.
• Analyse complex property claims, loss validation, triage, and settlement optimisation.
• Support delegated-authority processes, supply-chain audits, workflow adherence, and partner arrangements.
• Identify claim derailment, spend deterioration, supplier performance issues, and root causes of dissatisfaction.
• Work with Supplier Relationship Managers to improve supplier behaviour and customer outcomes.

Requirements

• Significant experience handling complex property claims for an insurer, adjusting firm, or managing general agent.
• Strong customer empathy and working knowledge of regulation, including TCF and FOS outcomes.
• Strong building pathology knowledge, including Schedules of Rates and producing or reviewing tenders.
• Experience with Joint Contracts Tribunal matters and insurance-industry scoping tools and technology.
• Membership of, or progress toward, CII, CIOB, RICS, CII, or CILA qualifications, unless supported by exceptional property claims experience.
• Ability to work within the UK and travel to Eastleigh as required.

• Experience of process and operational improvement programmes.
• Working toward relevant CII or CILA qualifications.
