Senior Software Engineer (Java)

What you will do

• Design and develop Java services for digital payments and card-network integration using Spring Boot, JPA, PostgreSQL, Liquibase, Drools, and Apache Camel.
• Build event-driven workflows with Kafka, including topic and schema design, reliable producers and consumers, and data-lifecycle pipelines.
• Develop independently deployable micro-frontends with Next.js, React, and TypeScript, and own OAuth2/OIDC identity flows with Okta.
• Design AWS IAM, S3, CloudFront, container, and internal cloud-hosting architectures across multiple environments.
• Define and execute enterprise performance-testing strategies, identify bottlenecks, and optimize services running across Java, Oracle, Tomcat, WebSphere, PostgreSQL, OpenShift, and cloud-native platforms.
• Drive test-driven development, continuous testing, CI/CD automation, code reviews, modernization, and cross-team technical planning.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, primarily with Java.
• Strong relational database experience with Oracle and/or PostgreSQL, plus experience with containerized environments such as OpenShift or Kubernetes.
• Experience with Spring Boot/JPA, business rules engines, integration frameworks, Kafka, domain-driven design, and authorization or data-access control design.
• Experience designing AWS IAM, storage, and CDN architecture, as well as modern frontend systems using Next.js, React, and TypeScript.
• Experience owning OAuth2/OIDC identity flows, enterprise performance testing, profiling, load testing, TDD, and automated CI/CD testing pipelines.
• Background in digital payments, card processing, or financial-services technology; knowledge of PCI compliance and secure data handling.

Nice to have

• PGLogical or PostgreSQL logical replication experience.
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot or Claude.
• Previous bank or card-network integration experience.
• Experience in segregated or air-gapped development environments.
