Senior Software Engineer, Global Payments (Fintech)

Location: Singapore; this role is based in Singapore

What you will do

• Build infrastructure services that improve payment processing, security, and customer trust.
• Design, develop, and maintain APIs, services, and systems supporting reliable payment flows.
• Collaborate with engineering teams across global offices, users, and financial partners.
• Investigate and troubleshoot production issues across multiple layers of the technology stack.
• Own and optimize critical components of the online payment processing flow.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of engineering experience.
• Experience designing elegant systems that abstract complex patterns, particularly in financial technology.
• Strong system-thinking skills and the ability to write high-quality code and documentation; Kotlin is preferred.
• High standards for production systems and engineering, security, and design best practices.
• Ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders and subject-matter experts.

Nice to have

• Experience with Spring or Spring Boot and Java, Kotlin, or other modern programming languages.
• Knowledge of HTTP, RESTful specifications, OAuth2.0, and JWT.
• Experience with PostgreSQL, Redis, NoSQL, Kafka, or RabbitMQ.
• Familiarity with Nginx, Istio, Aliyun Cloud, GCP, or AWS.
• Experience designing and maintaining public API products with user integration guides.
