Managing Consultant - Corporate Finance - Turnaround & Restructuring

Location: Chicago, IL

Salary: $120,000–$185,000 per year

What you will do

• Support the day-to-day activities of Corporate Finance Turnaround & Restructuring client service teams on engagements.
• Manage junior team members across multiple consulting tasks, including financial modeling and client presentations.
• Build and oversee 13-week cash flow models, three-statement models, and pro-forma scenario models.
• Collaborate with Turnaround & Restructuring experts, BRG professionals, other firms, and client contacts to achieve engagement objectives.
• Prepare reports, written analyses, presentations, and other client deliverables.
• Support marketing, client pitches, product development, and practice development while building trusted client relationships.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Business, Accounting or Finance, Management, Engineering, Economics, Mathematics, or a related field.
• 7+ years of work experience, ideally in consulting or professional services.
• Expertise in financial modeling and analysis, particularly in Excel, including three-statement financial models, cash flows, and scenario analyses.
• Ability to manage and analyze large volumes of financial and operational data and translate qualitative and quantitative results into insights and recommendations.
• Ability to interact with junior and senior team members, senior management, stakeholders, and other professionals.
• Strong problem-solving and project management skills.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
• Familiarity with financial research tools such as Capital IQ and Bloomberg.
• Willingness to travel as needed.

Nice to have

• CFA, CPA, or equivalent qualification.
• Technical or GAAP accounting expertise.
• Experience in a consulting or professional services environment.
