Location: Must be based in or able to commute to San Francisco, CA. This is a hybrid role requiring office attendance at least twice a week (Tuesdays and Thursdays).

Salary: $180,000 – $220,000

What you will do

• Lead the design and delivery of high-priority AI initiatives from prototype to production.
• Rapidly ramp into new systems and codebases to drive execution with minimal hand-holding.
• Incubate new product ideas in contract AI, agentic workflows, and intelligent automation.
• Partner with product, design, and legal domain experts to turn customer needs into shipped features.
• Identify and resolve technical bottlenecks by building, debugging, or simplifying systems.
• Mentor other engineers through hands-on leadership, code reviews, and technical direction.

Requirements

• Must be based in or able to commute to San Francisco, CA.
• Proven ability to build and ship production software in fast-paced environments.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals, particularly in backend and distributed systems.
• Experience building AI-powered product features or platforms.
• Familiarity with modern LLM application patterns like agentic workflows, retrieval, and evals.
• Ability to lead ambiguous, cross-functional efforts and drive them to concrete outcomes.

Nice to have

• Experience with TypeScript, React, and Node.js.
• Comfort using AI coding tools to accelerate development while maintaining rigor.
