Software Development Manager (Internet Edge Services)

What you will do

• Lead an established team of software development engineers building software-defined traffic engineering solutions for AWS internet edge networks.
• Manage sprint planning and maintain clear goals and project priorities for software engineers.
• Review high-level solution designs and coordinate technical reviews with stakeholders across AWS.
• Monitor operational metrics and drive improvements in service security, availability, and effectiveness.
• Prepare project reports for director-level review and handle escalations across leadership levels.
• Drive software and process improvements while partnering with engineering, product, and program management teams.

Requirements

• 3+ years of engineering team management experience.
• 7+ years of engineering experience.
• 8+ years of experience leading the definition and development of multi-tier web services.
• Knowledge of software, hardware, and network development practices across coding, code reviews, source control, builds, testing, certification, and live-site operations.
• Experience partnering with product or program management teams.

• Experience communicating with users, technical teams, and senior leadership about requirements, software features, technical designs, and product strategy.
