What you will do
- Lead and develop a high-performing team of dyno and simulation engineers, fostering a culture of accountability and innovation.
- Own the architecture and deployment of integrated systems linking powertrain dynos, DiL simulators, and real-time modeling platforms.
- Serve as the single-point technical integrator across race program propulsion systems to reduce dependence on track testing.
- Oversee the integration of vehicle dynamics models, powertrain/energy system models, and propulsion control strategies.
- Define and execute integrated validation strategies including Powertrain-in-the-loop (PIL), Driver-in-the-loop (DiL), and Vehicle-in-the-loop (ViL).
- Ensure the operational safety and efficiency of high-voltage electrified systems and high-speed rotating machinery.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Automotive Engineering.
- 10–15+ years of progressive experience in propulsion, simulation, or vehicle systems.
- Demonstrated experience in direct or technical leadership of complex programs.
- Proven expertise in powertrain dynamometer testing (ICE, hybrid, or EV) and real-time simulation/HiL environments.
- Proficiency with real-time platforms (dSPACE, NI, Speedgoat) and modeling tools (Simulink, GT-SUITE, Amesim, CarSim/IPG).
- Must be based in or be able to relocate to Concord, NC.
Nice to have
- Integration experience across Driver-in-the-Loop systems and co-simulation frameworks (FMI/FMU).
- Experience with electrified propulsion systems, including battery systems, inverters, and motors.
- Background in professional racing programs and direct involvement in track correlation feedback loops.
- Experience in defining technical roadmaps and capital planning for test facilities.
