Location: Must be based in the USA (specifically CA, CO, CT, FL, GA, KS, ME, MA, MD, NJ, NC, NY, OR, TN, TX, VA, or WA). Not hiring within Chicago city limits.

Salary: $150,000–$220,000 per year.

What you will do

• Lead and grow a distributed, remote team of UI and server-side engineers.
• Provide technical expertise in full-stack development, code reviews, and deployment strategies.
• Collaborate with product management and platform engineering to define the product roadmap.
• Identify gaps in team operations and implement software development best practices.
• Mentor team members and provide constructive feedback on design choices and system architecture.
• Ensure alignment across technical teams including UI, Mobile, Server, and Agent development.

Requirements

• 10+ years of cumulative software development experience in distributed client-server architectures.
• 3+ years of direct software engineering management experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Expertise in software design, CI/CD, modern web UI, caching, and key-value databases.
• Proven ability to lead and support a remote, distributed team.
• Must reside in an eligible US state (CA, CO, CT, FL, GA, KS, ME, MA, MD, NJ, NC, NY, OR, TN, TX, VA, or WA).

Nice to have

• Experience with Java, Kotlin, C++, Golang, or Postgres.
• Background in large-scale datastore bottlenecks and asynchronous application design.
• Experience with security best practices in software development.
