What you will do

• Lead and mentor a team of backend engineers responsible for document creation and notification services.
• Drive the design and scaling of communications infrastructure, including email, SMS, and physical mail integrations.
• Maintain hands-on involvement by contributing production-level code and participating in system architecture decisions.
• Partner with product, compliance, and legal teams to ensure regulatory disclosures and audit trails are robust.
• Implement observability and failure-handling logic to ensure high system reliability and performance.
• Foster a collaborative engineering culture through effective ceremonies and personalized growth planning.

Requirements

• Must be based in the US
• 8+ years of professional software experience, including at least 3 years in a management role.
• Strong proficiency in Go and experience with relational databases like PostgreSQL.
• Familiarity with cloud-native architectures, specifically Kubernetes and container orchestration.
• Experience with API design tools such as gRPC, Swagger, or OpenAPI.
• Proven ability to balance technical trade-offs and communicate complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Experience with GenAI developer tooling to accelerate CI/CD and automation.
• Background in fintech or insurance-related software development.
• Deep understanding of async messaging patterns and webhook handling.
