What you will do

• Lead the architecture and long-term technical roadmap to modernize legacy systems into a distributed microservices architecture.
• Implement AI-native workflows using LLMs and agentic agents to automate code generation, architectural reviews, and prototyping.
• Drive technical excellence across multiple teams, balancing rapid innovation with world-class reliability and security.
• Collaborate with Product Managers to translate global telecommunications regulations into developer-first APIs.
• Mentor senior and staff engineers, fostering a culture of AI-augmented development and technical curiosity.
• Identify and mitigate scalability bottlenecks and security vulnerabilities while leading production incident remediation.

Requirements

• 16+ years of experience designing high-scale, secure, cloud-native enterprise distributed systems.
• Expert proficiency in Java or Go and deep knowledge of AWS (Lambda, EKS, DynamoDB, Kafka).
• Demonstrated experience using AI tools (LLMs) to significantly accelerate software delivery and architectural brainstorming.
• Proven track record of building high-volume public-facing APIs with exceptional developer experience.
• Proficiency with Kubernetes, Terraform, and modern CI/CD paradigms.
• Must be based in the USA.

• Expertise in telephony protocols, local number porting (LNP), or global regulatory compliance frameworks.
• Experience building internal developer platforms to increase engineering velocity.
