What you will do
- Facilitate and lead RFx and Direct Award processes in compliance with trade agreements and university policies.
- Negotiate and award contracts, identifying and advising on potential risks to stakeholders.
- Provide expert procurement guidance to faculty, staff, and research grant holders.
- Contribute to category management activities, including strategic sourcing and supplier performance analysis.
- Maintain accurate records of solicitations, purchases, and contracts within document repositories.
- Collaborate with Financial Operations teams in Vancouver to ensure consistent procurement practices.
Requirements
- University degree in a relevant discipline.
- Minimum of three years of direct procurement experience, specifically with RFx/tendering processes.
- Ability to work onsite at the Okanagan Campus in Kelowna, BC.
- Strong knowledge of contract terminology and risk assessment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a focus on customer support.
- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple procurement projects within turnaround KPIs.
Nice to have
- National Institute of Supply Chain Leaders or SCMA designation.
- Experience with ERP systems (Workday) and eProcurement software (Bonfire, BCBid).
- Public sector purchasing experience.
- Experience in a construction environment and familiarity with CCDC contracts.
