Software Development Manager (AWS S3)

What you will do

• Build and lead a team of software engineers working in the S3 Compute space.
• Manage the day-to-day activities of the development team and define its long-term roadmap.
• Contribute to the design and development of core S3 services for global-scale event processing.
• Ensure the team is operationally fit while maintaining high standards for reliability, testing, verification, design, and code reviews.
• Work with stakeholders and customers to define and deliver the right product capabilities.
• Develop, mentor, and challenge engineers while participating in the regular on-call rotation.

Requirements

• Experience managing engineering teams and working directly within engineering organizations.
• Knowledge of the full software, hardware, and network development lifecycle, including coding standards, source control, build processes, testing, certification, and live-site operations.
• Experience designing or architecting new and existing systems, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
• Experience partnering with product and program management teams.
• Experience building relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Experience communicating technical designs, software features, requirements, and product strategy to users, technical teams, and senior leadership.
• Experience recruiting, hiring, mentoring, coaching, and managing software engineering teams.
