Software Development Manager (S3 Compute)

What you will do

• Lead and develop a team of software engineers in a high-impact, highly scaled environment.
• Design and develop core services for AWS S3, specifically addressing global scale event processing.
• Define and execute the long-term team roadmap while ensuring operational fitness.
• Mentor and challenge builders to improve their technical skills and overall effectiveness.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and customers to ensure the development of high-value features.
• Participate in on-call rotations to maintain 24/7 worldwide service availability.

Requirements

• Experience in engineering team management and working directly within development teams.
• Deep knowledge of the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards and build processes.
• Proven experience in designing and architecting reliable and scalable systems.
• Experience partnering with product and program management teams.
• Ability to build and cultivate relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Must be based in or able to work from Cambridge, UK

• Experience communicating technical designs and product strategy to senior leadership.
• Proven track record in recruiting, hiring, and coaching software engineers.
